Residents of Ejura, located in the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality of the Ashanti Region, are singing the praises of their Divisional Chief, Barima Osei Hwedie II.
According to them, the chief has gone above and beyond in his first eight years of leadership, satisfying their needs and spearheading numerous developmental projects that are unparalleled in the area.
The residents fondly reminisced about the first eight years of Barimah Osei Hwedie II’s rule, stating that he has exceeded their expectations and amazed them with his quest to unite all people within the Ejura enclave.
They acknowledged the chief’s impressive achievements since his enstoolment in 2015, which are worthy of recognition. In less than eight years, he has an unbeatable record of achievement.
In an exclusive interview with media, on Saturday, June 10, 2023, the residents recounted how the chief has made a huge impact on their lives with landmark developments.
They expressed their gratitude for his leadership and dedication to improving their community.
Infrastructure Development
Speaking about the impressive list of development projects led by Barimah Osei Hwedie II in the Ejura Traditional Area, the residents said, the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality, under the chief’s guidance, has provided a seven-bedroom apartment for doctors working at the Ejura Government Hospital and released a 20-acre land for the construction of a district hospital as part of the Agenda 111 project.
In addition, the chief has led the construction of a wall around the Ejura Government Hospital, provided boreholes to over ten communities, and built a six-unit classroom block for the Ejura Anglican Basic School.
Over the course of fewer than eight years, Barimah Osei Hwedie II has also overseen the construction of an ultra-modern Divisional Police Headquarters, donated over 600 acres of land to the Ghana Prisons Service, and facilitated the construction of a military base in Ejura by providing free land and houses to the government.
The chief has also provided a seven-bedroom apartment for officials of the Ghana National Fire Service, among other projects.
Furthermore, Barimah Osei Hwedie II has paid and is still paying fees for many tertiary students while securing jobs for hundreds of youth in the municipality.
While the residents couldn’t list all of the chief’s unprecedented works, they emphasized that all the projects mentioned are evidence-based and readily available in the communities. Therefore, they are applauding him for the good work done.
