Member of Parliament for Effiduase Asokore Constituency in the Ashanti Region Dr Ayew Afriyie has disclosed that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is in a comfortable lead to win the Flagbearership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to the legislature, most MPs particularly in Ashanti Region support the Vice President and that is a massive endorsement of his candidature.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, this morning with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, Dr Ayew cited that though there are other equally competent candidates contesting for the Flagbearership, he believes the right person to lead the party to victory is the Dr Bawumia.
He noted that Vice President Dr Bawumia is a competent person and possesses much experience and is capable of causing the change the NPP needs
He revealed that some MPs and constituencies have already declared their full support and loyalty to Dr Bawumia and that is what makes him the winning candidate.
“Many of my constituents want Dr Bawumia and that is where I stand,” he said.
