Former President Mahama had a shock of his life yesterday after some residents of his hometown, Damango in the Savannah Region allegedly hooted at him during the outdooring of Bii-Kunuto Jawu Soale, the new Yagbonwura of Gonja Kingdom.
The terrible incident happened on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the Jakpa Palace in Damongo.
The former President, Mahama and the Vice President Dr Bawumia were all present at the Outdooring ceremony the new Overload of the Gonja Kingdom, Bii-Kunuto Jawu Soale (Yagbonwura).
Whilst Bawumia received a mass warm welcome accompanied by accolades addressing the people, ex-president Mahama on the other hand was hooted when he was shaking hands with some dignitaries at the high table.
In a video, available to this portal, the people are seen chanting, “Away!! Away!! Away!!.” One could see a number of police and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP, Wontumi trying to control the crowd.

Posting the video on social media, specifically on the bird app, Samuel Koku Anyidoho posted,

What necessitated the people’s awkward action is unknown. However, reports suggest that They also stoned the convoy of the former president.
Two of the perpetrators according to reports this morning have been arrested by the police in connection to the bad action.
