The Member of Parliament for Suame constituency, Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has underscored the need for members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be united to assist in maintaining political power in 2024.
According to him, the party may loose the impending 2024 elections if members do not unite for the progress of the NPP.
He made the pronouncement at the Suame NPP delegates conference held over the weekend.
The minister of parliamentary affairs declared at the conference that, NPP will spend not less than 12 years in opposition if they mistakenly let their bitter rivals, thus the National Democratic Congress (NDC) defeat them (NPP) in 2024.
“We said we want to break the eight but brethren, if we do not unite, breaking the eight will be impossible, we’ll go into opposition for not less 12 years. Breaking the eight is not just about talking but we need to work hard in order to achieve what we’re wishing for.” Kyei Mensah advised.
Commenting on some developmental innovations the NPP government is already putting in place, he said the government is establishing a petroleum hub in Ghana to be supported by the Dubai government. The move he said will create major employment for the youth in the country.
The NPP government is going to build Iron and steel company to be contracted to Toyota and Sino track companies, and the industry is expected to begin the production of vehicles next year.
Mr. Kyei Mensah said the NPP government under President Akufo-Addo is putting several measures in place for the development of the nation.
