Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, the director of electoral services at the Electoral Commission, has revealed the deceptive actions taken by some political parties to acquire an operational license.
He claims that these political parties rent offices for about 3 months just to acquire their license.
In response to this finding, the commission has revoked the licenses of these political parties.
Dr. Serebour explained that in order for a political party to be recognized and allowed to operate in Ghana, it must have a national office as well as regional offices in each of the country’s 16 regions.
The affected parties have been proven to not meet this requirement, hence the action taken against them by the EC.
The director challenges the affected political parties with evidence to the contrary to present it to court for their vindication.
