Former Afigya Kwabre South constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, well known as Coka has shut down claims that he is not on good terms with Chairman Wontumi.
Coka lost the NPP regional executives’ elections to Mr Antwi Bosiako aka Wontumi a couple of months ago. Ever since there have been rumours that the duo are not in good rapport.
But speaking about a recent video that saw Wontumi and Coka coming together at an event, Odeneho stated that, his ambition has been on the NPP’s ‘breaking the eight’ and that, he is working hard with all NPP folks to retain power in 2024.
According to him, Wontumi is not his target, but ‘breaking the eight’ in 2024 Ghana’s general polls is his core aim.
“I went into elections with Chairman Wontumi… The NPP delegates elected him, they said we should allow Wontumi to continue so what is the problem again?
“Now we’re brothers, we’re friends. Chairman Wontumi is not my target and I don’t think I’m his target. What is very essential is what I can do at my small corner to mass up people, and encourage them to win elections. If through me, NPP loses polls, it will be very bad.
“Everything is over; we’re looking at retaining power….. I’m a democrat; I’ve forgotten about the polls and moved on, as I think Wontumi has done.
Now what we can do to retain power is where we’ve gotten to.
So what you heard Wontumi say was true. We’re going to work together.”
“My target is breaking the eight.”
“I’ll never give up; I will continue to do my best to help my party to retain power,” Coka stated on Oyerepa Breakfast Show.
He however called on all party members to come together as one to break the eight for NPP.
