Former mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Kojo Bonsu has conjoined the failures of President Akufo-Addo to his old age.
According to him, persons who are above 70 years are unable to make proper decisions and that is the more reason he is underperforming.
Recall that, President Akufo-Addo, 78 years was recently booed by Ghanaian youth at the Global Citizen Festival over non-performance.
Kojo Bonsu, speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time indicated that part of Nana Addo’s failures is a result of his old age.
“… I wouldn’t specifically say Akufo-Addo has failed because of his age but it is part of the issue.”
According to him, the age cut-off point for Ghana’s presidency should be 70. He believes the constitution should prevent anyone above 70 years to rule a diplomatic nation like Ghana.
“I believe the maximum age for our president should be 70; it should be the cut-off point, that’s my thinking. Because when you are a bit old it’s very difficult to run a diplomatic country like Ghana.”
“The constitution shouldn’t allow anybody above 70 to contest for Presidency.” Kojo Bonsu stated.
Meanwhile, he has made it clear to contest for the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) flagbeararship in December this year.
