The National Women’s Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Hanna Louisa Bissiw has described Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as a comedian.
She has likened the Dr in economics to the late Comedian, Bob Bishop Okala.
“Dr VVIP Clown Bawumia, Bob Okala is even better than him. He does not behave like a vice president, he behaves like a comedian.” Dr Hanna Bisiw stated on Oyerepa Breakfast Show.
The former Member of Parliament for Tano South, Dr Hanna Bisiw’s statement is in relation to some comments the vice president made prior to the 2016 Ghana general elections.
Dr Bawumia said, he is the best in economics and that, the then NDC government lacked competent men to stir the affairs of the country.
He said, “when the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you”…
According to Bawumia if the NPP assumed power he was going to arrest the dollar which was exchanged at Ghc4 to a Dollar. He said the dollar was running at a faster pace and that he would stabilize the economy should the NPP win power.
The Vice President after winning power with his NPP led by Akufo-Addo later said, they have arrested the cedi, locked it up and gave the keys to IGP.
“When we came in, it [cedi] was running, essentially we have arrested it [cedi], and the IGP has the keys, he’s locked it up, we want to make sure we pursue sound policies to keep the cedi stable, it has appreciated for this year.“
Years after inflation began to shoot up, the Dr in economics (Bawumia) said, “Demons” and “principalities” working against the country’s economic progress and prosperity.”
But Dr Hanna Bisiw believes those statements the Vice President made apparently show that he is a comedian just like Bob Okala.
“When he was lying about the exchange rate, people warned him.
Bawumia said he has arrested the cedi and locked it up and given the keys to IGP, that time I said if he wants to be a comedian he should see Bob Okala and learn because even in his comedy he’s incompetent. Because if you arrest the cedi it means you’ve given the dollar free hand to operate in the market. So if you come out and make such pronouncement aren’t you a comedian?” She quizzed.
“Isn’t this same comedian who said demons and principalities have attacked the economy of Ghana? This is a reckless and irresponsible statement from a man who calls himself Dr in Economics and Finance. Even me; a village champion, I’m better than Dr Bawumia.”
She added that when the NDC left office in 2016 the cedi to the dollar was GHc4 but today it’s trading at about GHc9.70.
According to her, the country’s economy has completely broken down but Bawumia is mute, he’s now taken pastors’ work away from them.
Dr Hanna Bisiw asserted further that Akufo-Addo, Bawumia and their ministers are the real fraudsters; no one surpasses them in Ghana in terms of ‘azaa’ (fraud).
