Alexander Akwasi Acquah, the Member of Parliament for the Akim-Oda constituency in the Eastern region has expressed deep disappointment with the conduct of Ghana Police Service on the election day
Over 132 suspects have been arrested in connection with electoral violence. The police service is currently investigating incidents of violence and disturbances during and after elections.
According to police report, the number of suspects remanded into custody is 45, with 71 granted police inquiry bail.
Despite the police’s efforts, the deputy finance minister has accused the police of failing the ruling NPP.
Mr. Acquah believes that spiritual factors and other influences, including the Ghana Police Service, contributed to the party’s defeat.
He explained that some of the EC officials were forced by the NDC to declare election results
“We relied on the police, but they failed us,” the Deputy Health Minister asserted during a conversation with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time.
