“All members of parliament on the ticket of NDC were all there in the house and our new leader, Ato Forson made a resounding declaration of total support for his candidature (Mahama) and was greeted by a resounding applause followed by a standing ovation….. Even a brother of a possible contender declared his support for Mahama.” Alhassan Suhuyini stated on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Tuesday.
He, however, cautioned possible contenders to like, Kwabena Duffuor, Kojo Bonsu and the likes to stay back, since the NDC top hierarchy and supporters have already chosen Mahama to lead the party.
Meanwhile, former President Mahama has officially declared that he will contest to lead the NDC into the 2024 general election as its presidential candidate.
Mahama made the disclosure on February 21 after meeting members of the Minority Caucus in Parliament at his residence in Accra.
