President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has cautioned Ghanaians against re-electing John Dramani Mahama, citing his unimpressive performance during his previous term as President.
Akufo-Addo emphasized that Mahama’s lacklustre record in office made him unworthy of re-election in 2016, and his current bid for the presidency in 2024 is equally undeserved.
According to Akufo-Addo, Mahama is attempting to revamp his image, assuming that Ghanaians have forgotten his past shortcomings. However, the President urged citizens to remember Mahama’s unremarkable tenure and deny him another opportunity to lead the nation.
Akufo-Addo’s statement highlights his confidence in his own administration’s achievements and his scepticism regarding Mahama’s ability to lead Ghana effectively.
“Because they believe that we have short memories we do t remember their record. We remember their record. The record of failure,” he said.
Citing Ghana’s presidents over the years, he indicated that apart Atta Mills who died, John Dramani Mahama is the only president who had a one term due to his poor showing as President.
The president emphasized that the Ghanaian people will never forget John Mahama’s bad record because the NPP will continue to remind the Ghanaian people of his poor showing as President.
