A private legal practitioner, Lawyer William Kusi has urged Stephen Asamoah Boateng, the defeated National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, to render an apology to God or forget about any political position.
According to the lawyer, Asabee’s defeat was a result of his reckless comment about the controversial National Cathedral.
It could be recalled that Asabee made a statement urging the government to slow down on the construction of the controversial National Cathedral and tackle with poverty in the country first.
“Look at the poverty happening around and those who are struggling; slow down and tackle that [poverty]. In my own opinion if it goes beyond 2024, 2026 [it is] fine. We need to take our time.
It will have a beneficial effect on the economy finally; such an edifice cannot go waste. We will earn the revenue but right now if government money is not going in, fine, but if our money is going in, I would say let us wait a bit. Let us get the private sector to push in, especially the Christian community,” Asabee said.
But lawyer reacting to Asabee’s comment prior to NPP’s election on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, stated that Asabee will lose drastically.
“Asamoah Boateng will not win the chairmanship position, he’ll lose drastically. He has no priority. If Asebee does not know the benefits of the national cathedral then he can’t be a leader.’’ He stated
Commenting on the outcome of the NPP’s just-ended election, Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Lawyer Kusi expressed delight over Asabee’s defeat; urged him to apologise.
“The is an agreement I had with Asabee. He said National Cathedral is not a priority, it is…if you don’t think the things of the spirit are not a priority you can’t lead. Asabee should respect God.
The defeat is Asabee’s package. He should come and apologize to God if not he will not get any political appointment. I have placed injunction on Asabee”. Lawyer Kusi asserted.
