“You have one week to report to manhyia” — Abro warns Kwabena Boakye

A heated feud between Ghanaian media personality Mawuli Ekpe Peter, popularly known as Abro, and Kumawood actor Kwabena Boakye has taken a dramatic traditional turn after the broadcaster reportedly petitioned the Manhyia Palace over threats and curses directed at him and his family.

The controversy reportedly began after Kwabena Boakye publicly accused actress Vivian Jill Lawrence of mistreating him during the course of their relationship and professional dealings. The actor’s emotional claims quickly sparked intense reactions online, with many industry players weighing in on the matter.

Abro later entered the conversation during an appearance on Royal TV, where he criticised Kwabena Boakye and revived old allegations about the actor’s past issues with the Ghana Police Service. Abro also claimed he once played a role in helping the actor regain his freedom after his arrest.

The comments did not sit well with Kwabena Boakye, who responded angrily in a viral video. In the footage, the actor allegedly invoked curses on Abro and shockingly extended the spiritual attack to include Abro’s children, asking the gods to use them as a sacrifice of thanksgiving.

The disturbing remarks triggered outrage on social media, with many condemning the actor for dragging innocent children into the conflict.

In a new video circulating online, Abro disclosed that he had officially taken the issue before the Manhyia Palace and the Queen Mother in an attempt to seek peaceful intervention.

“I told you people that I would resolve my issue with Kwabena Boakye amicably last week. He cursed me last week, so I took the matter to the Manhyia Palace and to the Queen Mother. They have been trying to reach him, but he is unavailable. My team and I have also tried to contact him, but he is unreachable. However, I want to inform him that I have summoned him to Manhyia,” he stated.

According to Abro, repeated efforts to contact the actor have failed, prompting him to issue a one-week ultimatum for Kwabena Boakye to appear before the palace.

“I want to give him one week to present himself at the Manhyia Palace. If he doesn’t do that, then it means he has no respect for the Ashanti Kingdom. If he fails to appear, I will show him who I am, and he will regret it. He could have gone ahead and cursed me, but he shouldn’t have involved my children. My children are very young — my firstborn is not even 12 years old, and my lastborn is just 1 year and 10 months old,” Abro added.

The media personality further intensified the tension by threatening retaliation if the actor ignored the traditional summons.

“If I don’t see Kwabena Boakye at the palace, I will strip myself naked. I will also wipe out his entire generation,” he warned.

The escalating dispute has since become one of the most talked-about controversies in Ghana’s entertainment industry, with many social media users urging both men to de-escalate the situation before it spirals further. Others have also called on senior figures in Kumawood and traditional authorities to intervene quickly and restore peace between the two personalities.
