“You Are F00l!sh” — Critics blast married man for selling Wife’s land to fund facebook lover

A married man has sparked public outrage after revealing that he gave a random woman financial assistance totaling a whopping GH¢350,000.

Daniel, who is married to Mary Amoako and has four children with her, appeared on Oyerepa Afutuo with Auntie Naa on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, to look for a woman he once helped financially. According to him, he met the woman on Facebook. After several online conversations, their friendship developed into an online romantic relationship.

The woman later sought his financial assistance for her grandmother’s illness. At first, Daniel said he was unwilling to help her, but she convinced him after making him speak on the phone with a man she claimed was her uncle. The supposed uncle allegedly told Daniel that he was a sailor and promised to repay the money once he returned to Ghana.

“I met her on Facebook. At first, I said I would introduce her to my friend, but she rejected the offer and said she wanted me instead. Even though I told her I’m married, she still agreed to be with me,” Daniel said.

Daniel explained that because he did not have the money, he sold a piece of land belonging to his wife, which she had purchased for a building project. He added that aside from the money obtained from selling the land, he had also been sending the woman additional sums, bringing the total amount to GH¢350,000. According to him, the woman took the entire amount within three weeks.

He further stated, “I sold my wife’s land to get the money for her. She made me speak to her uncle, who said he was overseas working at sea. He told me to give her the money and promised to pay me back when he returned.”

During the interview, Daniel admitted that he had never met the woman in person, nor had they ever seen each other physically, let alone had an intimate relationship. All attempts to retrieve his money in order to buy back his wife’s land have proven unsuccessful.

He also mentioned that his wife, Mary Amoako, is a second-hand clothes dealer and clarified that he was not the one who financed her business.

When his wife was called during the live show, she broke down in tears and expressed shock, saying she never imagined her husband would pursue another woman, let alone sell her property to support her financially. According to Mary, the family is currently facing severe hardship, and she recently gave birth.

Daniel later offered his wife GH¢5,000 as compensation in an attempt to calm her down. However, Auntie Naa and her team rejected the offer, arguing that the amount was far too small considering the value of the property sold and what he had done to his wife.

The incident has sparked massive public outrage, with many people criticizing Daniel for prioritizing his selfish interests over his committed wife and family. Social media reactions to the video have largely consisted of insults and condemnation directed at him.
