About 62 angry cocoa farmers in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa of the Central region have expressed dismay and repugnance at the managers of Olam cocoa buying company Ltd at Twifo Praso.

According to the aggrieved farmers, the managers of the Olam Cocoa Processing Ghana Limited at Twifo Praso have used their names to prepare receipts of about 1,244 bags of cocoa in the 2022 cocoa season which the managers claimed to have bought from the farmers.

In a press conference, the farmers disclosed that the Twifo Praso managers have also used their names to collect a whooping sum of GH41,676 from the Olam company which they said was a premium or bonus that they paid to the 62 cocoa farmers in 2022.

The farmers hinted that they have never sold any such number of cocoa bags to the Twifo Praso managers of the Olam cocoa-buying company in 2022.

Again, they have never received such a whooping amount of money from the managers at Twifo Praso.

They are therefore calling on the auditors of Olam cocoa buying company Ltd to institute a forensic audit on the Twifo Praso managers of the company to eliminate the rot in the company in at Twifo Praso district.
