Mrs. Kosi Yankey Ayeh, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Enterprises Agency, has revealed that over 800,000 businesses in Ghana have benefited from the agency’s assistance in expanding their businesses.
She made this revelation in an interview with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, while adding that “the government made an investment of about $150 million in the Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) directly for the first time in the country to help their expansion.”
According to the CEO, some of these beneficiaries are making 6 figures of monthly or weekly turnovers since their expansion.
She indicated that the initiative is the reality of the vision and promise President Akufo-Addo made during the COVID-19 period.
Mrs. Ayeh also said the interventions come in the form of grants and loans. Amounts of GHC 2000 and below are grants, and over GHC 2000 are given out as loans, with a maximum duration of 3 years to repay the amount back to the agency.
