The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) says it has not received any formal communication from the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations on the proposed review of prophecies of national importance.
Speaking to Citi News, GPCC General Secretary, Apostle Immanuel Tettey, stated that the Council would respond only after receiving an official letter on the matter.
“GPCC normally will not have such controversial prophecies in the public domain. We have spoken to our member churches and leaders. If it is written to us, we will seek clarification with the Office and know the way forward,” he stated.
The clarification follows a call from Presidential Envoy Elvis Afriyie Ankrah urging faith leaders to intensify prayers for the nation in the wake of the August 6 helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, including senior government officials.
In a letter dated August 10, 2025, addressed to all Ecumenical Heads, Mr. Afriyie Ankrah conveyed President John Dramani Mahama’s appreciation to churches for their “unwavering spiritual support, intercessory prayers, and sustained leadership in promoting peace, moral integrity, and national unity.”
He also urged clergy to share any divine revelations of national importance with the Office of the President, stressing the need for unity, foresight, and spiritual vigilance during this period of national grief.
