The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has indicated that, the New Kejetia Market will be opened to traders tommorow, Tuesday, March 21 2023.
This follows the closure of the market since last week after a part caught Fire destroying about 34 shops on Wednesday, 15th March 2023.
Addressing a section of traders at a visit to the market on Monday, Vice President Bawumia indicated that, he has spoken to authorities of the Kejetia Market and have agreed that, the edifice that was closed would resume work tommorow.
“I’ve spoken to the fire service and they have confirmed to me that, they are done with investigations into the fire outbreak. They said the outbreak wasn’t an electrical fault so they will open the market tommorow.”
“We will follow the recommendations of the Fire Service Report and work with it.” Dr Bawumia added.
The veep however sympathized with traders who lost their goods as result of the fire.
He pledged that, the government will fix edifice as soon as possible.
