Ghana’s newest Artiste of the Year, King Promise, has made a bold pledge to throw his full weight behind the ever-growing Ghanaian music industry.
The “Terminator” hitmaker, who clinched the top prize at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), made this known during the TGMA “Nite with Artiste of the Year and Plaque Presentation” event held on June 6.
Speaking to GhanaWeb’s Isaac Dadzie, King Promise shared his deep commitment to pushing the boundaries of Ghana’s sound.
“The music industry is thriving. I’m only here to contribute my quota. I will do the best that I can and hopefully together, we’ll take over the world,” he said.
He added that his recent TGMA win is just the beginning of more to come. “There’s so much more coming. You know, music, collaborations, videos, touring. That’s representing Ghana, as a whole,” he assured.
King Promise, born Gregory Bortey Newman, has carved a reputation for himself as one of Ghana’s most consistent and versatile acts, known for blending Afrobeats, highlife, and R&B effortlessly.
