The Queen Mother of Wassa Mampong in the Western Region and her associates stormed Oyerepa TV/Radio under the Promise Broadcasting Limited on Wednesday with the intention to beat the crew of Oyerepa Afutuo show, headed by Eunice Naa Amerley Nortey, popularly known as Auntie Naa.
The actions of Obaatanpa Akosua Mra III, Wassa Mampong Hemaa (Queen Mother) and her company were triggered following the 8-year imprisonment of the Queen’s son 24-year-old son known popularly in the town as “Ade Akye Abia “.
A couple of months ago, it was reported on the popular afternoon radio and TV show that 24-year-old Ade Akye Abia had defiled a 6-year-old girl.
Oyerepa Afutuo therefore reported the case to the police and eventually, the culprit was jailed for 8 years.
A few months after the culprit was jailed, the victim’s mother ran back to Oyerepa Afutuo crew to report to them about being victimized and maltreated in the town under the influence of the Queen mother.
The Queen mother after hearing the new development appeared on the show in the company of about 20 People from Wasa Mampong on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, to register their displeasure.
In the course of the live radio and TV programme, the company of the Queen outside the station’s premises
insulted Auntie Naa and her crew, and subsequently threatened to deal with them.
A few minutes later, more than 200 viewers of the show, mainly Kumasi Adum traders also rushed to the station in defence of Auntie Naa. The management of the station and the police however calmed the situation to avert any unforeseen problem.
