The New Patriotic Party, NPP, has elected its Regional Executives with monetization taking the center stage.
People have raised concerns about how monies were paid to delegates to induce the outcome of the elections.
According to Ghanaians, the elections were not credible because the highest bidders bought their way through. Concerns have been raised about how the breaking of the eight mantras by the NPP will be difficult because the will of the people did not manifest during the elections.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, a member of the NDC Communications team, Professor Aboagye Dacosta stated that, due to vote-buying, there are a lot of misrepresentations in parliament.
He said wrong people have been sent to parliament to represent their constituents and it is making it difficult for such people to deliver on their mandate.
Prof Dacosta added that competent people are rejected for incompetent people who have monies to buy their ways through to parliament.
He stressed that it’s high time Ghanaians condemned vote-buying in order to get the right people for the right jobs.
“Vote buying has sent the wrong people to parliament and it has negatively affected government’s business in diverse ways. It’s high time we condemned the act of vote-buying in this country.” He opined.
