According to Victoria Hamah, former Deputy Minister of Communications, crying over death is an act of ignorance.
Such incidents that cause people to cry, she believes, should be used to represent one’s imminent death, because life is a mirage in and of itself.
“To cry when people die is ‘Ignorance.’ Life is nothing but an Illusion. Rather than crying reflect on your own mortality,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
The former deputy minister’s declaration comes at a time when Ghana and the rest of the world are mourning the passing of Black Stars player Christian Atsu.
Christian Atsu died as a consequence of the effects of a massive earthquake that struck parts of Turkey and Syria more than a week ago.
The former Black Stars player’s body was unearthed under rubble more than a week after the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that struck on February 6, 2023.
