One person has been confirmed dead and 16 others injured in a road accident at Peki Tsame near Mawutor Inn along the Peki–Asikuma highway.
The crash occurred when a Toyota Hiace bus, with registration number GT 7012-24, reportedly experienced a rear tyre burst and somersaulted.

In a Facebook update on Friday, February 13, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said personnel from the Peki Fire Station, led by ADO I Godwin Gbedemah, responded promptly to the distress call and rescued victims who were trapped in the vehicle.
According to the GNFS, the injured passengers comprised eight males, seven females and one child. They were handed over to the National Ambulance Service and transported to the Peki Government Hospital for medical attention.
The Service added that one of the victims later died at the hospital, while the remaining injured persons are reported to be in stable condition.
