Uri Geller replies to Kwaku Bonsam: “Your powers can’t affect Harry Kane”

Israeli-British illusionist and self-proclaimed psychic Uri Geller has dismissed claims made by Ghanaian traditional priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam, who alleged that he used spiritual means to influence England captain Harry Kane’s performance during recent international fixtures.

The controversy began after Ghana held England to a draw in their World Cup encounter, when Nana Kwaku Bonsam claimed he had placed a spiritual restriction on Harry Kane ahead of the tournament, which he said affected the striker’s goal-scoring form. He further suggested that the supposed spiritual influence had been lifted to allow the forward to perform against future opponents.

Reacting in a video message, Uri Geller strongly rejected the claims, insisting that any attempt to affect the footballer through spiritual means would have no impact.

Addressing the Ghanaian spiritualist directly, he said: “Nana Kwaku Bonsam, so you are a witch doctor and you said you will curse Harry Kane? No, you will not, because my powers are more powerful than yours, if at all you have any.”

Geller went on to claim that any alleged spiritual interference had already been neutralised.

“You are cancelled and you will not be able to do anything. The Three Lions are amazing,” he added.

He further referenced memorabilia in his possession connected to England’s football history, suggesting a symbolic link to the team’s success.

“In fact, come and see something. You see that shirt up there that won England the World Cup. The ball on the right, the original football that England won during the World Cup has only one signature on it, and that’s my signature. You are cancelled out,” he said.

Uri Geller, widely known for his spoon-bending performances and television appearances in the 1970s, has long described himself as a psychic with the ability to influence physical objects using mental power, though his claims have often been met with skepticism from scientists and critics.
