Uncle Ebo Whyte celebrates 43 years with wife Florence

Veteran Ghanaian playwright, author and motivational speaker James Ebo Whyte, popularly known as Uncle Ebo Whyte, has celebrated 43 years of marriage to his wife, Florence Sandra Whyte, with a heartfelt tribute reflecting on love, growth and lifelong commitment.

Marking the milestone in a Facebook post, Uncle Ebo Whyte expressed gratitude for God’s faithfulness throughout their journey together while acknowledging how much he has learned about marriage over the years.

He wrote, “43 years of God’s faithfulness. Today we celebrate 43 years of purpose, storytelling and lives impacted. Here’s to many more years of telling stories that inspire, challenge and transform. Happy 43rd anniversary, Florence!”

In another reflective post, the celebrated playwright admitted that he entered marriage with little understanding of what lay ahead.

“43 years of marriage. From a clueless husband to a student of love and marriage. Today, July 23, marks my 43rd wedding anniversary to Florence,” he wrote.

Looking back on their wedding day in 1983, Uncle Ebo Whyte added, “When I stood before God’s altar in July 1983, in the midst of drought and famine, I honestly thought I knew what I was doing. Forty-three years later, I can admit, to my shame and also my amusement, that I was completely clueless.”

Uncle Ebo Whyte is widely admired not only for his contributions to Ghana’s theatre industry through Roverman Productions but also for his inspirational writings and public teachings on relationships, marriage and personal development. Over the years, he has often used his personal experiences to encourage couples to embrace patience, humility and continuous learning in marriage.

His latest anniversary message has resonated with many of his followers, who have congratulated the couple and praised the veteran playwright for his honesty, humility and enduring commitment to his wife after more than four decades together.
