Seven people are said to have been killed in Bawku in the Upper East Region, as a result of revived ethnic strife between Kusasis and Mamprusis.
In an interview with the press, David Adoliba, Assemblyman for the Gingande Electoral Area, stated that an alleged killing of an elderly man in Natinga on Saturday, December 17, 2022, caused sporadic gunshots, having killed five people.
Two more people were killed as a result of the spillover of gunshots.
A young man who was wounded in the process is presently hospitalized.
