UCC Student Found Dead Days After Being Reported Missing
A 20-year-old student of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), who was reported missing earlier this week, has been found dead on the university’s campus.
The deceased, identified as Innocentia Avinu, was a Bachelor of Commerce student studying Human Resource Management at the university.
According to reports, Innocentia was last seen on June 11, 2026, at the Ayensu Plaza Hostel on campus. She was reportedly wearing a black dress at the time of her disappearance, prompting concern among colleagues, friends, and family members.
Her body was discovered on Saturday, June 13, 2026, along the shoreline of the university’s coastal beach. Reports indicate that she was found lying face down and clothed only in her underwear and bra.
Authorities subsequently retrieved the body and conveyed it to a morgue, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and investigations are underway to establish the events leading to her death.
As of the time of reporting, the University of Cape Coast had not issued an official statement on the matter.
