A tragic accident at Dadwen/Kyekyewere on the Obuasi-Kumasi Highway has claimed the lives of two individuals.
The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. when a Hyundai Grace Mini Bus, with registration number AC 1477-21 and driven by 25-year-old Akwesi Yeboah, veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Shackman Trailer Truck, registered CR 1228-25, and driven by 33-year-old Padmond Kakari.
A male passenger aboard the Hyundai Grace Mini Bus died instantly, while the two drivers and another passenger sustained injuries and were rushed to the Obuasi Government Hospital for treatment.
However, Akwesi Yeboah was later pronounced dead upon arrival.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Confirming the incident to media, the Assembly Member for the Dadwen/Kyekyewere Electoral Area, Kwabena Appiah Kubi, stated that two lives were lost in the accident while others received medical attention.
