The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) community has been struck by tragedy following the passing of two students in separate incidents.
The deceased have been identified as Akosuah Owusuaa, a third-year Forest Resource Technology student, and Bertha Kookale Hammond, a final-year English student.
Both students passed away on Sunday, March 9, under unknown circumstances.
Reports indicate that Akosuah Owusuaa had been unwell since Wednesday and was sent home on Saturday. Sadly, she passed away the following day.
The Department of English has expressed deep sorrow over Bertha’s passing, describing her as a dedicated and talented student whose creativity and presence will be deeply missed.
In her honor, students of the English Department (ASEK) have been asked to wear black on Monday, March 10, and Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Details regarding funeral arrangements and memorial services will be communicated in due course.
The entire KNUST community extends heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of both students as they mourn these profound losses.
