Two killed in tipper truck accident at Senchi; police launch investigation
Two people have died in a fatal road accident involving a tipper truck at Senchi in the Asuogyaman District.
The incident occurred on Thursday, May 28, 2026, near the Senchi market area when a tipper truck with registration number GR 2135-22 reportedly overturned under unclear circumstances.
According to reports, emergency responders from the Police and the Ghana National Fire Service swiftly arrived at the scene and confirmed that both occupants of the vehicle had died on the spot.
The bodies of the deceased were retrieved from the wreckage and transported to the morgue for preservation and further identification.
The crash led to heavy traffic congestion along the Senchi stretch for several hours, disrupting movement until personnel cleared the scene and restored normal traffic flow.
The Ghana Police Service, through its Eastern Regional Command, has launched an investigation to establish the exact cause of the accident.
Preliminary considerations include possible speeding, mechanical failure, or driver error, though the exact cause is yet to be determined.
