Two twin brothers, identified as Atta Kofi and Ebi Wom, both aged 28, have allegedly beaten a 33-year-old man to death at Sefwi Boinzan in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.
The deceased, Theophilus Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwasi KK, was reportedly washing gold in a river within the community at the time of the incident—an activity residents strongly oppose.
According to reports, one of the twins, who lives close to the river, confronted Gyamfi and asked him to stop the activity. The deceased allegedly refused, leading to a heated argument.
The situation escalated when the second twin joined the confrontation, resulting in a physical fight during which the two suspects are alleged to have assaulted Gyamfi.
The victim was initially taken home for treatment, but his condition later worsened. Family members subsequently rushed him to the Juaboso Government Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on the way.
The Assembly Member for the Boinzan Electoral Area, Aha Kojo Vincent, confirmed the incident and revealed that the suspects fled the community shortly after the attack.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Juaboso Government Hospital mortuary, while police have launched investigations and begun a manhunt to locate and arrest the suspects.
