There is no wonder that when the Akan film industry dubbed Kumawood is discussed, the name of actress Rose Akua Mensah, also known as Kyeiwaa, will be referenced.
She was very influential in the industry, gaining steam by playing various roles that endeared her to cinephiles.
However, what did the magic for her is the 12-part film, ‘Kyeiwaa’ which made her a household name. She played the role of a witch perfectly in ‘Kyeiwaa’, probably Africa’s movie with the most sequels and hence her nickname.
Kyeiwaa has been featured in several movies such as ‘Akonoba’, ‘Abebrese’, ‘Cross Road’ and ‘Ogyam’.
