Ghanaian actress and media personality Felicity Ama Agyemang, popularly known as Nana Ama McBrown, has ruled out any possibility of entering partisan politics, saying she has no interest in sacrificing the broad public affection she currently enjoys.

The television personality explained in an interview that she is satisfied with her career and believes remaining outside politics gives her a better chance of preserving the goodwill she has built with Ghanaians over the years.

“Never in my life would I get into politics. No amount of persuasion can convince me to get into politics. I believe that the position I am in now, if I take good care of myself, is everlasting, till the kingdom comes. Where I have reached, if I should get involved in politics and associate with a political party, after 8 to 12 years, it will divide my love. I just feel like this is enough for me,” McBrown said.

McBrown, who has built a career spanning acting, television and entertainment, said she would rather concentrate on the path that has brought her lasting support than risk becoming politically aligned.

She added that beyond her entertainment career, her ultimate aspiration is to dedicate herself to spreading the Christian faith.

“I feel like the only thing left for me to do in this life is to minister the gospel of the Lord,” she said.

Her comments reinforce her long-standing reluctance to enter Ghana’s highly polarised political space, despite the influence and popularity she commands as one of the country’s best-known entertainers.
