Mr. Kumah, the father of the late Ejisu MP, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, has urged the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to thoroughly investigate the cause of his son’s death.
Dr. John Kumah passed away at approximately 12:40 PM at the Suhum government hospital. He was being transported in an ambulance with his wife and a medical doctor from Ejisu to Accra when they were diverted to the Suhum medical facility due to Mr. Kumah’s rapidly deteriorating condition.
Following his death, there have been several speculations suggesting that the late Deputy Finance Minister may have been poisoned. This has led to concerns from both the public and the NPP, with calls for the bereaved family to take legal action against those spreading false information about Lawyer John Kumah’s death.
In response to these unfounded reports, Mr. Kumah has expressed that he is not interested in pursuing legal action as his son is already deceased, and nothing can bring him back. Instead, he is urging the NPP leadership to conduct a thorough investigation into John Kumah’s death to uncover the true cause.
“I leave everything to God, because John Kumah is deceased, there’s nothing I can do to bring him back to life.
I’m not going to embark on any litigation concerning my son’s death because it won’t bring him back to life. But if I could do anything to resurrect him, I would have done it.
I leave everything in the hands of the NPP leaders to make a thorough investigation about my son’s death.” Father of John Kumah stated in an interview with Oyerepa News.
Meanwhile, an autopsy conducted on Friday, March 8, 2024, by a certified pathologist revealed that the late Ejisu Lawmaker died from multiple myeloma, a form of cancer.
