Songstress Mzbel born Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah has said that if she wrote a book, chronicling her life experiences such as actress Yvonne Nelson has done, and named people in it, the whole of Ghana will be ‘implicated’ in her affairs given the experiences she has had as a singer and performer.
Mzbel, who recently welcomed her second child, told the host of UTV’s United Showbiz MzGee that even though she has nothing against Yvonne Nelson for sharing her story, she was not ready to share hers, which will be a sad one and will include countless people if she named names.
Speaking in Twi, she stated that “We all have stories to tell. If I write a story and name names, the who of Ghana will be implicated. It’s going to be sad. From the time I had a show in Tech(KNUST) and what patrons of the show did to me; the counselling and therapy I had to be subjected to; the subsequent attempts of armed robbers on me; how the media reported the sad incident at Tech; and how some people wanted to take advantage of the situation…We have a story to tell but we won’t finish it. The whole of Ghana will be in there,” she said.
Mzbel is one of Ghana’s best-known female singers, whose electrifying performances enthralled patrons, especially in the early and mid-2000s. In 2005, Mzbel was sexually assaulted by some persons alleged to be KNUST students while she was performing on stage.
