Popular Ghanaian Afropop singer, Dennis Nana Dwamena, well known as Kidi has described his music journey as rough and tough.
He says it is not been easy breaking through Ghana’s music industry.
According to Kidi, the perception about having a smooth walk into the music industry without any hustle is never true. He has really suffered.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, on the topic “Breaking through Ghana’s Rough and tough Music terrain”, Kidi disclosed that he had to sort permission on different occasions from his parents before he was given the chance to pursue his music carrier.
He disclosed that he had to play the guitar and sing for hours just to earn GHc50.
The ‘Touch it’ hitmaker said, most music lovers do not see the hassle most artists go through. Fans believe that musicians get fame on a silver platter but it is not like that.
“It’s been a rough journey, it’s never been easy. Obviously, people only see the made-product; people just see when it’s done. When a song is out, the video is out and you’re looking nice but isn’t like what they think.” He unveiled.
