The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Education Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng, has said that the first-ever introduced harmonised prospectus for free SHS in the country is to
The newly introduced National Prospectus is designed for all prospective first-year students to eliminate any form of pressure on parents regarding the items required of freshmen.
According to the Public Relations Officer for the ministry, the national prospectus has been categorized into basic needs, making it easier for parents to afford all items for their wards.
Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng, who is the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, explained in an interview with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel on the Oyerepa Breakfast Show that the new arrangement by the ministry is to be adhered to by all schools without imposing any extra items apart from what has been officially prescribed in the “National Prospectus.
“Parents will no longer have so much pressure on them to wait until the school selection and placement system has begun before buying these items for their children,” he said.
Adding that initially students would have traveled from far distances to come for prospectus at their schools and travel back the same day or next, but now they are replaced with the harmonized national prospectus, which is not too much for parents to afford.
“Students will now be laid off the burden of even traveling from that far distance to come for prospectuses before buying items needed, but now that you print, you just have to print out your school placement, and your prospectus will be attached to it for you to save the cost and the burden,” he added.
