Awuni Akyereba, a forensic chartered accountant, has opined that the budget read by the finance minister was influenced by the conditionalities laid out by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding the soliciting of loans by the government.
He stated this in an interview with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time and added that “it is a complete package of mendacity in their quest to have their way swiftly with Ghanaians.”
Mr. Awuni said the budget is designed to squeeze out money as revenue from Ghanaians, which will definitely put pressure on the average person. He believes the proposed budget is not the antidote to the current economic hardships.
