Tension at Mamprobi Polyclinic over alleged baby theft
Tension flared at the Mamprobi Polyclinic on Tuesday after a newborn baby was reportedly declared missing shortly after being delivered through a Caesarean section.
According to initial accounts, a woman suspected to have posed as a nurse allegedly took the baby from the facility under circumstances that remain unclear.
Videos shared on social media showed chaotic scenes at the polyclinic, with the baby’s father confronting hospital authorities and demanding immediate answers over the disappearance of his child. He also called for the release of CCTV footage to assist in identifying and apprehending the suspect.
Fortunately, CCTV cameras at the facility reportedly captured clear images of the woman believed to be involved in the incident.

The situation triggered panic and emotional scenes at the health centre, as family members confronted staff and pressed for information about the baby’s whereabouts.
The case has been reported to the Ghana Police Service, which has commenced investigations.
