The Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Jones Ofori Buadu, has called on licensed surveyors to familiarize themselves with modern technological tools to capitalize on opportunities arising from the government’s ambitious nationwide mapping project.
Speaking on behalf of the Lands Minister at the commissioning of LISAG Villa during the 20th anniversary and 7th Annual General meeting, Jones Buadu emphasized that the project will require local content, particularly in ground controls, which surveyors can provide.
He noted that the current mapping at the Ministry is outdated, dating back to 1978, and a new national mapping is necessary for planning and developmental projects.
While international surveyors will handle the flying aspect, local contractors (surveyors) will handle other components.
Buadu urged surveyors to form a consortium to benefit from the project, congratulating LISAG on their contributions to Ghana’s development.
