The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Amoakohene, has come under fire from a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who has accused him of focusing more on social media content creation than on addressing pressing regional concerns.
Addo Yaw Harry, popularly known as Ogyaba and the NPP’s Communications Director for the Western North Region, expressed his disappointment during an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Time.
He criticised Dr. Amoakohene for allegedly turning his office into a hub for Facebook and TikTok content, suggesting that the minister is more interested in chasing online popularity and potential revenue from social media than performing his official duties.
According to Ogyaba, this behaviour is not only unbecoming of a public official but also comes at a time when Kumasi and the greater Ashanti Region are grappling with serious challenges, including growing insecurity and widespread power outages, which have left many areas in darkness.

He urged the minister to redirect his focus to addressing the urgent needs of residents in the region, rather than spending valuable time on social media activities.
