A political scientist, Professor Ransford Gyampo, has responded to claims by the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency in the Ashanti region, Dr Kingsley Nyarko, that he (Gyampo) said Akuffo-Addo cannot be president.
Dr. Kingsely, reacting to Prof. Gyampo’s and others comments about the Presidency’s request for CVs of senior Electoral Commission officials, indicated that the lecturer hated President Akufo-Addo.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, the legislator said Prof. Gyampo told him in 2016 that the then-candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, could not be president.
“In 2016, Prof. Gyampo told me Akufo-Addo will never be president. I had several conversations with him. You can call him to deny it.”
Responding to the Kwadaso MP in a Facebook post right after the TV show, Prof. Gyampo refuted the allegation; challenging the lawmaker to provide evidence.
“Stop the lies. You are an honourable Member of Parliament. I never told you anywhere in 2016 that Akufo Addo could not be president of Ghana. If you claim I did and you have the evidence, just bring it out. Indeed, the facts on the ground as of 2016 cannot support your congenital lie.” He told Kwesi Parker-Wilson, host of the show.
