Former Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Boakye Agyarko has urged the leadership of the party to end their arrogance and rather do an introspection on why party stalwart, Alan Kyerematen has resigned from the party.
Mr Alan Kyerematen on Monday September 25, 2023, at a press conference announced his resignation from the NPP and his decision to contest the upcoming 2024 general election as an independent candidate.
Commenting on Mr Kyerematen’s departure, Boakye Agyarko who was also a flagbearer aspirant in a statement described Alan’s exit as “unfortunate” and should be a warning sign to the NPP.
According to the former Minister for Energy, many NPP members have similar concerns just as Alan Kyerematen who are only waiting to punish the party come 2024 general election.
“At least, my brother Kyerematen has put his thoughts and feelings on paper for all to appreciate. How about the many who habour similar and maybe more petulant sentiments in their hearts but are not openly addressing same. There are many in our party today who have, out of dismay, resigned in their hearts and are only waiting to walk away from us at the ballot box,” he said.
