Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has urged women to avoid placing unnecessary financial pressure on men, stressing that being a man does not automatically make someone responsible for meeting every financial request.

In a post on X on September 29, 2026, Nana Aba said women should not assume that men will always have the means to provide whatever they ask for.

“Stop piling unnecessary pressure on men. The fact that he’s a man doesn’t mean he’s automatically responsible for providing whatever a woman asks for. What if he simply doesn’t have it at that particular time?” she wrote.

She questioned what men are expected to do when they are unable to meet such demands, arguing that financial responsibility should not be based solely on gender.

“What exactly is he supposed to do? Steal? Being a man doesn’t make money magically appear,” she stated.

Nana Aba further encouraged women to explore ways of meeting their own financial needs rather than relying solely on men.

“She could’ve asked someone else, yes, but she could have worked for it too through her job or by getting a job,” she added.

Her comments have sparked discussion about financial expectations in relationships and the extent to which men should be expected to provide for women.
