The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Greater Accra Constituency Organizers are calling on President John Dramani Mahama and the party leadership to intervene in the alleged harassment of Mac Dan Group of Company and other Ghanaian businesses by party members.

At a press conference, Ellis Amartei, Deputy Secretary for Greater Accra Constituency Organizers said the government’s actions are perceived as intimidation, which could disrupt businesses and hinder job creation.

The NDC Greater Accra Regional Constituency Organizers believe that Ghanaian entrepreneurs, like Mac Dan Group, should be recognized as assets to the region and country.

They urge the party leadership to take action to address the alleged harassment and ensure that businesses can operate without undue interference.
Gad Nene Ackwreh, leader of NDC Greater Accra Constituency Organizers, called on the party leadership to rethink its approach to private sector engagement.

According to Ackwreh, the current actions against businesses, such as Mac Dan Group, could undermine the party’s 24-hour economy agenda. Instead of targeting entrepreneurs who create jobs, the party should support and partner with them to expand their businesses and employ more youth.

Ackwreh emphasized that the 24-hour economy initiative is a key policy that could benefit young people, and the party should prioritize creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.”

Ackwreh urged the party leadership to focus on supporting entrepreneurs who create jobs, rather than targeting them with investigations and other forms of harassment. By partnering with the private sector, the party can create more opportunities for young people and achieve its economic goals.
