Veteran Ghanaian music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, widely known in the entertainment industry as Fredyma, has stepped into the ongoing public fallout between gospel singer Florence Obinim and her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, calling for calm and private reconciliation.

The respected sound engineer and cultural figure took to Facebook, saying he had personally contacted both parties in an effort to discourage the escalating online exchanges. He cautioned that turning marital disagreements into public entertainment could leave permanent scars on their family life, ministry, and public image.

Fredyma, who revealed he once lived with the couple for about three years, described them as one of the most affectionate pairs he has personally encountered. He added that despite human imperfections, their bond had always appeared genuine in his experience.

According to him, “They are humans and have their flaws, as everyone does; however, they are one of the most loving and caring couples I have met in my 60 years of life in this fleeting world.”

He further reflected on Bishop Obinim’s personal support during one of the most difficult chapters of his life, recalling how the cleric gave him employment at OBTV and supported him financially, including assistance with his children’s university education, after he suffered major losses during the June 3, 2015, flood and fire disaster in Accra.

Fredyma, who also referenced his 37-year marriage experience, warned that publicising domestic conflicts often creates long-term reputational damage that even reconciliation cannot erase.

“When you report your partner during minor misunderstandings to family, friends, and the public, you may eventually forgive each other, however, others will never forget,” he wrote.

He also criticised individuals who appeared to be celebrating the couple’s turmoil online, questioning the motive behind such reactions.

“To those who wish this marriage to fail, what do you stand to gain?” he asked.

Fredyma further appealed to the couple to consider their responsibilities as public figures and faith leaders, noting that their actions affect not only their children but also their church members and wider community.

He warned that social media judgment can be unforgiving, adding that once personal issues are made public, control over the narrative is often lost permanently.

In conclusion, Fredyma urged both Florence Obinim and Bishop Daniel Obinim to prioritise reconciliation and protect their family’s dignity, stressing that some battles are better resolved away from public view before they cause irreversible damage to their legacy.
