Stonebwoy reveals how Mr P surprised him at BhimFest

Ghanaian dancehall star Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has revealed how Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, professionally known as Mr P, surprised him by turning up to support his BhimFest concert in London.

Stonebwoy said Mr P personally called him before the show at the OVO Arena and questioned why he had not been invited to support the event. According to the Ghanaian musician, the Nigerian star immediately decided to attend after their conversation.

“Listen, when I got your call at the house, you were like, ‘You won’t call me to come and support you?’ I said, ‘Ahh Baba, you know this one…’ Right then he said, ‘Don’t say sh*t. I’m coming.’ And that is how he pulled out for me,” Stonebwoy recounted.

The “Into the Future” hitmaker used the moment to praise Mr P and encourage fans to anticipate his forthcoming album, which he said he had already heard.

“Look out for the OG album coming out. I’ve just been listening to it. E choke. Baba, please just give me four bars on the album, just four so it can elevate me. Let’s come back harder. I beg you, I will deliver. Na me be the remix king in Ghana,” he said.

Mr P, who previously formed one-half of the celebrated Nigerian duo P-Square with his twin brother Paul Okoye, congratulated Stonebwoy on the successful concert and said the experience brought back memories of his own performances.

“Congrats, congrats, my brother. You did your thing. What I saw yesterday reminded me of us,” Mr P said.

Stonebwoy’s account highlights the strong Ghana-Nigeria bond within African music, with Mr P’s appearance adding another memorable moment to BhimFest’s London edition.
