Ghanaian dancehall and Afrobeats artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has revealed a difficult moment he experienced during his annual ‘Ashaiman To The World’ Festival, where he had to continue performing while his pregnant wife was being rushed to the hospital after allegedly being stabbed.

Speaking about the challenges entertainers face while serving their fans, Stonebwoy explained that artistes often endure personal struggles behind the scenes while maintaining professionalism on stage.

The award-winning musician disclosed that the incident happened during one of his performances at the Ashaiman-based concert, an event he established to celebrate his community and connect with his supporters.

According to Stonebwoy, his wife, Dr Louisa Ansong Satekla, who was pregnant with their daughter at the time, suffered a knife injury while he was entertaining thousands of fans.

He said, “They cut my wife with a knife. Till today, today, I talk about hazards on the job. See the fans are there, what can I do? They carried her to the hospital. I was there. I performed the whole show before I went there. At that time too, she was pregnant with my daughter. You understand? And that is just an example of the things we go through as people who serve people.”

Stonebwoy used the experience to highlight the sacrifices entertainers sometimes make while carrying out their responsibilities, noting that public figures are often expected to remain committed despite personal difficulties.

The “Putuu” hitmaker, who has become one of Ghana’s most recognised global music stars, has over the years used the ‘Ashaiman To The World’ Festival as a platform to promote local talent and showcase his roots.
