There seems to be a lot of pressure on Mr Bernard Antwi Bosiako alias Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after he claimed recently that his ‘agenda 47/47’ was a “mere talk.”
He also asserted on Accra-based radio that he’s the ‘Messi of NPP’ in Ashanti, should he be voted out the party will lose the 2024 polls.
Many NPP gurus in the Ashanti region have chastised his needless comments whilst others believe, Wontumi’s assertions are a sign of failure therefore he should step down.
The latest to add his voice to Wontumi’s issues is Oheneba Kofi Adum Baawuah, Chief Patron Patriotic Ambassadors Movement.
According to Oheneba, Wontumi has failed and he should not dare to contest for the chairmanship position in the upcoming NPP national and regional executives elections.
“You’ve to keep your word and when you keep your word you must deliver. Agenda 47/47, you failed.” He said in an exclusive interview with Bismark Brown on Oyerepa TV show, My Signature.
He believes, Chairman Wontumi will lose and eventually collapse should he be recalcitrant and contest for the polls next year.
“If you go for these elections you will lose totally and collapse. You’re my younger brother, you’ve done your part for Asanteman but step down and maintain your dignity.” He said.
Oheneba Kofi Adum Baawuah, who is keen on contesting the Ashanti Regional NPP chairmanship position believes, people who in their research tell Wontumi that he will win the impending elections are liars, they are only interested in his money.
“People who do research for you claiming you’ll win the impending elections are not telling you the truth, they’re just chopping you.”
However, he advised ‘NPP Messi’ (Wontumi) to step down and maintain his respect in the Ashanti Region.
“If you (Wontumi) listen to my advice and step down as the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, you’ll maintain your respect forever.”
