A tragic accident on the Borae Kete-Krachi Highway in the Oti Region has claimed the life of a 17-year-old motor rider after a speeding VIP bus struck him.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 5, 2025, leaving residents in shock and mourning.
According to eyewitnesses, the VIP bus, registered as GW 6575-21, was traveling at high speed from Dambai to Krachi when it collided with the young rider.
The victim, identified only as Unyimbe, sustained severe head injuries and died instantly at the scene.
Following the crash, concerned residents have renewed calls for speed ramps along the highway to prevent similar accidents.
Police officers have since visited the scene and launched an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, authorities continue to urge drivers to adhere to speed limits and exercise caution to prevent further tragedies on the road.
